As part of Small Business Month, NSW Department of Industry has provided funding to Councils across NSW to help us celebrate our local small and medium-sized business community.

Griffith City Council is pleased to invite local business people to attend an information session, presented by Katrina Houghton from .id the population experts.

Katrina will demonstrate how to access statistics and data about our local community and economic profile. This free one hour workshop will be held at Griffith City Council on Thursday, 4 October 2018 from 1 to 2 pm.

Council provides free access to demographic and economic data through .id the population experts online software, which can help businesses plan services to reach the right people, attract investment and promote the region, provide evidence for funding submissions and make better investment decisions.

Information such as population, age structure, ethnicity, ancestry, religion, income, qualifications, occupations, employment, disability, household structure, the size and type of the dwellings people live in is all available to assist local businesses better understand their local community.

You can also access a series of maps that show how particular population groups are distributed across our local government area.

You will learn how to access information such as what is driving population change in our community, and forecasts about how the population, age structure and household types will change between now and the future.

The workshop will also show you how to access economic data about our region. The economic profiles are derived from official sources and are analysed and presented by experts. Information including Gross Regional Product, local jobs and businesses,  population, building approvals and industry structure is available free on line.

Join us to learn more about our local community and economy to be able to make better informed decisions to help your business grow.
